i was doing some chest runs today with my friend in desolation and we opened 15 chests each and every single one i got gave me purple but about half of his was gold, so whats going on with my guildwars

Either bad luck or the possiblity of overfarming resulting in decreased loot quality. The latter is only my speculation.

pure bad luck, i've got it too =/ been lightbringer points farming about 3-5 times with 2 guildies and rest of party heroes, and currently I've gotten the least golds and most purps, i believe 2 of the runs i only got purples while guildies had 50-75% golds (we use about 5 keys per run)

yeah.. seems like pure bad luck.. i missed how gold chests were only gold chests

Its happends to me too. its the chest nerfing now at least 85% if not more of all chests I've opened since the nerf have been purple.

NEVER chest run with a friend! It always looks like you get less than them! This usually happens to me...kind of annoying. When I opened chests on my own when I was going for Elonian GMC I had 7 or 8 golds in a row...quite surprising.

I'm really surprised someone hasn't posted with the usual 5 word post... "It's Random - Get over it". Seems to me to usually be a chronic mistake to post about chests in this forum since that's usually the response people get. This is just an observation.

I am also the king of bad luck though, so I'm with you...so annoying when you buy a load of keys and seem to get an enless amount of purples! You Start to think...What's the point? Thanksfully now there is a point!

That point is the extra 3% chance to not break per tier or the treasure hunter title. Finally gave me a reason to go for Treasure Hunter and Seeker of Wisdom.
